Welcome, we enjoy working with other IT Professionals. We are happy to share information; we all have things we can learn from each other. IT has become such a diverse industry with varied skill sets and tight time frames, we all need some assistance now and then. Below are some of the more common items we are asked for and some of our specialties. If you need some assistance or have a project in mind, give us a call and we can hash it out and see if we can help.
Northern Nevada is home to many warehouses, offices and production centers, whose headquarters and main IT staff are located elsewhere. We provide tech’s as needed to move or install hardware, troubleshoot physical problems, wireless network problems, virus removal, wiping systems (we include the certificates), etc. Wherever you need a real set of eyes and hands. We’ll provide technicians on an hourly or project basis.
If you have a small IT staff and would like to go on vacation or actually relax while you are on vacation, call us, we’ll be your backup, so you can enjoy your time away from the office and return ready to take on the world again!
It seems like yesterday that we were just finishing up moving those last few users off XP, it’s already time to mover everyone to Windows 10. Changing A/V clients, remote support clients, line of business apps, system refresh, changing to a virtual environment, if you need some extra help getting it all done, we’re here for you. New switches, firewalls, pc’s, servers, we can provide the hardware and software or just put the ones you ship into place. Your network, your choice!
Need some help troubleshooting a problem, sometimes being able to see and touch the problem really helps. We can send a technician on site and see if it’s something like a loose cable or if it’s something bigger like a failing hard drive or power supply, we’ll check in with you and repair it if you want. We can also troubleshoot and fix wireless access, network problems and browser problems, scanning, faxing, phones and other office technology issues.
Moving is stressful, we can help! We can provide a helping hand or the complete whole project, at least from the technology and office equipment perspective. We can arrange: phone lines, internet service providers, move computers, servers, wireless design and installation, network equipment, telephones, copiers, security camera’s, fax, email, and all the other pieces and parts that go into moving an office. We have lots of clients that are in construction, architecture and interior design that may also be of assistance. Just give us a call and tell us what you have in mind.
Moving to a cloud based Line of Business application like Salesforce, Office 365, Netsuite, Spam Filter, A/V Client, MS Dynamics, or something similar? We can reconfigure the desktops, servers and firewalls as needed. We don’t claim to be experts on all the platforms but we’ve played with all of them some and can make sure the workstations are working properly.
One of our specialties, wireless in warehouses and manufacturing areas can be tricky, especially when the scanner you are using to pull orders is talking to a data center 3,000 miles away. Those packets need to get there and back before they time out and faster is always better. We’ve seen problems with liquids, high tech sports materials, aluminum walls, cars, neighbors competing for channels and streaming music from iPhone sucking up bandwidth, just to name a few. Installing managed wireless equipment that is smart enough to handle the hand offs is really helpful in many environments.
The need for speed. Do you need some help troubleshooting persistent network problems or help deciding what equipment to upgrade to improve throughputs? Whether it’s in the building or across the nation. We are sort of infrastructure geeks.
Security is a natural follow on area for network geeks. The balance between minimal user disruptions while maximal company safety differs for each company. Everyone should have firewalls, smart A/V, content filtering, spam filtering and great backups in case of infiltration especially with Ransomware attacks becoming more common. Further locking down users may include restricting remote workers, virtual desktops, and guest networks; breaking out conference rooms and building maintenance and telephone on to separate VLAN’s. This is overkill for some users and still not enough for really sensitive data like financial firms or casino’s. We’ve built a few casino’s, the casino floors are always on an entirely separate network than the rest of the property. Security camera’s, door locks, if it’s an IP device it’s easy enough to install and maintain. Having a sanitizing station for USB thumb drives to check for viruses before allowing users to use them on the network drastically reduces widespread infections.
Enough access to work, not enough to cause problems, we have a MDM client we can use if you haven’t implemented on yet. A/V clients, user access, where is the device, remote wipe, and BYOD. Having a mobile device policy and especially some user training about the do’s and don’ts of using foreign networks forcing A/V scans before reclogging into the domain with a group policy is a great idea for sales executives and traveling executives.
Your client or ours, out of time, need a few extra hands for a project or server work, we can help, we like working remotely too. We’ve helped migrate large quantities of mailboxes to a hosted environment, upgraded servers in faraway places, have done pc work in the evenings and on weekends to minimize user disruption. If you are in the middle of a few too many things, let us know and we’ll help you out.
Hyper V or VMware, server virtualization has made the world a better place. Backing up virtual servers, and moving VM’s to another host has greatly simplified server upgrades and reduced time to build new servers. There are some gotcha’s and tricks to using the best configurations for your environment. Being able to expand drive arrays, backup up and restore entire VM’s from the host are effected by the way the VM is configured. We’ve learned some of these the hard way, let us know if you need some maintenance or some information on configuring or upgrading Virtual Servers.
We have a full set of tools that we can use to monitor your servers and environment or use the tools you already use.
